Shirley Ann Edblom

Shirley Schmidt Edblom, age 80 of Arlington passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at Bayside Manor in Gaylord. Memorial service will be at 11a.m. on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Arlington. Rev. Matthew Rauh will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will take place in the church cemetery at a later date.

Shirley was born in Arlington on August 11, 1945 to Fred and Erna (Manhke) Voight. She married Eugene Schmidt and they were blessed with three sons. Shirley sewed at Finger Hut, Wimons, and Jolly Tundra and later worked at the Family Dollar. She enjoyed bowling, sewing and socializing. She later married Rodger Edblom and they resided in Arlington.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Eugene, brother Lyle and son Jeffrey.

Daughter in law, April Schmidt of Gaylord,

Eight Grandchildren, Ann (Jake) Drusch, Timothy (Magen), Travis (Sami), Paul, Jake, Trent (Megan), Kendra and Carson

Nieces, nephews and friends.
