Shirley A. Johnson, age 88 of Belle Plaine, died on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at the Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine. Funeral Service will be at 11a.m. on Wednesday September 4, 2013 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in rural Henderson. Rev. Daniel Lowe will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine and continue one hour prior to the service at church on Wednesday morning. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Belle Plaine. Shirley was born in Mears, MI on April 25, 1925 to James and Linnie (Garlick) Farmer. After the death of her parents at a young age, she was raised by her half sister Marie Gerlach in Kenosha, WI. Shirley graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School in Kenosha. On July 7, 1945 she married Donald Johnson in Kenosha, WI. Shirley loved ceramics painting, polishing rocks, decopage and scrapbooking. She was also a voracious reader, especially her Bible. Shirley is survived by her daughter, Lynn (Clarence) Doheny of Belle Plaine, MN, Sons, Donald (Christine) Johnson Jr. of Inver Grove Heights, MN, Dean (Pam) Johnson of Landcaster, WI, Jon Johnson (Joan Chevalier) of Henderson, NV, Tim (Marsha) Johnson of Lakeville, MN, Many Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren And Great-Great-Grandchildren, Many Nieces, Nephews and other Relatives. She is preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Donald Johnson.
