Shirley May Kubal

Shirley M. Kubal, age 78 of Arlington, died Saturday, November 1, 2014 at her home in Arlington. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 5 at Peace Lutheran Church in Arlington. Rev. Kurt Lehmkuhl will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the church and will continue on Wednesday from 9 am until service time at church. Interment will be in Arlington Public Cemetery. Shirley was born on May 25, 1936 to Albert and Leona (Kamps) Wacker in Arlington. She graduated from Arlington High School in 1954. She attended Swedish Hospital for her nursing license. She married Don Kubal on April 14, 1956. She worked at the Arlington Hospital as an LPN for 45 years. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and counted cross-stitch. She loved to watch her grandchildren play sports and have coffee with her neighborhood and nursing friends. Shirley is survived by her husband, Don Kubal; children and their families: Greg (Corinne) Kubal their children, Alex, Andrew and Aaron Kubal; Tammy Kubal and her children, Kirby (significant other, Brittany) Kubal and Brittany (Matt) Turner, Lisa (Will) Holt their children, Matthew (Christy), Angela and Rachel Holt; brother, Duane (Lois) Wacker of Le Sueur, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert & Leona Wacker and son, Gary.
