Stephen Spaude

Stephen John Spaude, age 61, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2015 in Belle Plaine, Minnesota. Funeral services will be held at the chapel of the Lutheran Home, in Belle Plaine, MN on Monday, March 9 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held at the chapel one hour prior to the service. Stephen was born on August 31, 1953 to Luther and Ruth Spaude in Saginaw, Michigan. He lived at Southern Wisconsin Colony in Union Grove, WI from 1960 to 1980. He moved to Bethesda Lutheran Home in Watertown, WI and lived there from 1980 to 2010. From 2010 to the time of his death he lived at the Lutheran Home-Hope Residence, in Belle Plaine. Stephen liked people and always had a cheerful greeting for staff, friends and family. He loved music from an early age and especially enjoyed praising Jesus at Worship at the Cross. Stephen is survived by his sisters, Naomi (Mrs. Paul) Doehling of Arlington, MN, Bethel (Mrs. Glen) Schmiege of Madison, WI, and his brother, Rev. Michael (Rachel) Spaude of Antigo, WI. He is further survived by nieces, Hannah Schmiege, Katie Koelpin (Steve), Rebekah (Jacob)Brunoehler, Laura (Andrew)Stuebs, and Sarah Schmiege, and nephews Joshua (Sarah) Doehling, Nathaniel (Emily)Doehling, Benjamin (Kasey) Schmiege, Luke (Kristin) Doehling, Jeremiah (Gretchen) Schmiege, Aaron Doehling, Caleb Schmiege, Paul Spaude, David Spaude and Daniel Spaude, and many great nieces and nephews. Stephen was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Luther and Ruth Spaude.
