Steven John Latzke age 49 of Green Isle died unexpectedly at his home on January 1, 2011. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Green Isle on Wednesday January 5th, 2011 and one hour prior to the service. Funeral services will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church on Thursday January 6th, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery with lunch following in the church Fellowship Hall. Steven was born on November 20, 1961 to Kenneth and Arlene (Wolters) Latzke. He was baptized at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Green Isle on December 10, 1961 and was later confirmed in his faith on June 6, 1976. He attended Green Isle Elementary and Arlington High Schools. After High School he went to work on the family farm with his dad. Steve pursued his passion for farming following in the footsteps of his grandpa Swede and his dad Snooky. Steve took over the family farm in 1999. He also owned and operated Steves Tire & Repair for twenty three years. Steve enjoyed the many fishing trips taken with his dad and his son Justin. Steve and Justin also enjoyed their annual deer hunting outings. He loved spending time with his son Justin. Some of their hobbies included restoring antique tractors and competing in antique tractor pulls along with his dad Snooky. While working on the family farm, Steve enjoyed the start of his day catching up over a cup of coffee with his mom. He enjoyed spending time with family, friends and playing 6-5-4 with the "shaking crew". Steve was well liked and respected, his generous and caring personality showed in everything he did. Steve will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Steve is survived by his parents Kenneth and Arlene (Wolters) Latzke; son Justin and daughter Jessica; Brother Mike and wife (Susan) Latzke of Litchfield, Mn.; Sisters Kathy (Tom) Ott of Young America, Mn, and Vicky Eischens (Frank Long) of Watertown, Mn. Nieces and nephews Jeremy and Brook Latzke; Christopher, Ashley and Alex Ott; Matthew and Nicole Eischens; aunts, uncles, many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by Brother Curtis in infancy; Grandparents Alby and Lydia Wolters and Arnold and Mildred Latzke; uncle Merlin Wolters and aunt Marlys VonBerge.
