Steven Mckinnon

Steven D. McKinnon passed away on April 15, 2020 at the Mayo Clinic Hospital in New Prague.  A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Lutheran Home Chapel in Belle Plaine.

Steven was born in Shakopee on December 8, 1981 to Douglas and Nancy (Siemers) McKinnon. Steven grew up in Shakopee with his loving parents and older sister, Ann. Despite his physical and developmental challenges, Steven attended Shakopee public school, graduating from Shakopee Senior High as part of the Class of 2000, an accomplishment that made his family so proud. Steven lived with his parents his whole life until their passing, and then continued to live a full life as part of the Hope Residence community in Belle Plaine.

He is survived by his sister, Ann McKinnon, brother-in-law, Mike McDonald, and niece, Leia McDonald of Aberdeen, NC; Aunt Bev Siemers and Uncle Mark Siemers of Prior Lake; Aunt Judy Siemers and Uncle Scott Siemers of Henley on Thames, England; and many cousins; the staff and residents of the Hope Residence; and staff and co-workers at ProAct New Options in Shakopee where he proudly attended five days a week.
