Susan Diane Fahey

Susan Diane Fahey, age 79 of Belle Plaine, died on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Mayo Health Systems in Mankato, MN.  Memorial Mass will be on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at 10:30 a.m., Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church, Belle Plaine.  Visitation will be at church that morning from 9:30 a.m. ~ 10:30 a.m.  Lunch to follow Mass in Church Social Hall, burial will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in the early Spring.  Fr. Michael Kaluza will officiate the services.

Susan was born in New Prague, MN to Herbert and Eileen (Efta) Seaver on July 4, 1943.  She grew up in Jordan, MN and moved to Pennsylvania for a short time in her teens with her step-father.  She moved back to Minnesota a 17 and graduated from Norwood High School.  She married Robert Fahey on July 27, 1963 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Cologne Minnesota where they lived for about 4 years moving to Belle Plaine in 1968.  She was a devoted mother and later worked for about 10 years at Norwestco Plastics in Belle Plaine and later Lake Regional Medical Devices in Chaska for 27 years, retiring in 1988.  She was active at Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church in Belle Plaine and enjoyed her grandchildren especially at Christmas time, crocheting and beading.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; children; Barb Glisczinski of Henderson, MN; Brian (LeAnn) Fahey of Belle Plaine, MN and Steve Fahey of Belle Plaine, MN.  10 Grandchildren and 8 Great-Grandchildren.  Brothers; Daniel (Penny) Seaver of Princeton, MN; Dale Kohler of Arizonia and Tim (Jeannette) Kohler of New Ulm, MN.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, John “Jack” Seaver and sister, Chris Neilson.  Son-in-law; Gary Glisczinski and daughter-in-law; Beth Fahey and other relatives and friends.
