Susan (Olson) Halvorson, age 95 of LeSueur, Minnesota died on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at the Minnesota Valley Health Care Center in LeSueur. Funeral service will be Friday, March 1 at the First Lutheran Church in LeSueur at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be one and a half hours prior to the services at the church. Interment will be in the St. Olaf Lutheran Church Cemetery in Odin, Minnesota. Susan was born on April 28, 1917 in Northwest of Mountain Lake in Salem Twp., Minnesota to John A. and Helena (Entz) Pankratz. She attended country schools and proudly achieved her GED at age 70. She married Harold Olson on March 14, 1936 in Odin, Minnesota. They farmed in Delton Township for many years, in 1965 they moved to Young America, MN where they lived and worked for 10 years and then retired to Cass Lake. He preceded her in death in 1983. Susan moved toYoung America after his death and later married Harris Halvorson on September 15, 1987 in LeSueur where they continued to reside. Harris preceded her in death in 1994. She was a member of First Lutheran Church and enjoyed quilting, crocheting, reading, teaching and playing the card game Ten Penny. Susan is survived by her son, Kenneth (Diana) Olson of Vancouver, Washington; 2 daughters, Janice (Duane) Myers of Danbury, WI and Joyce (Alan) Krueger of Young America; 12 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren; step-son, Cayce Halvorson and step-daughter, Laurie Jo Hesseldahl and a sister-in-law, Ruby Pankratz; many nieces and nephews and special friends. She is preceded in death by her husbands; infant son, Keith; son-in-law, Don Kazemba; 3 brothers and 8 sisters.
