Teresa Aurelia Van Buskirk

Teresa Aurelia Van Buskirk (Schneider), age 90 of Shakopee, formerly of the Henderson area, passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital in Shakopee, MN. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, August 26, 2014, 11:00 a.m. at the Kolden Funeral Home in Henderson, MN. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the services at the funeral home. Interment will be at Brown Cemetery, Henderson, MN. Teresa was born on November 8, 1923 to Albert and Gertrude (Tueber) Schneider at their home in Eagle Creek Township, Scott County, MN. She was baptized, confirmed and received her elementary education at Marystown, MN at St. Mary's of the Purification Church and School. She later attended nursing school and received her licensure as an LPN. She studied psychology at Mankato State University and worked for the State of Minnesota for 28 years. After her retirement she continued her nursing career as a PCA for several clients in the metro area for the next 15 years. She married Berman Van Buskirk on March 16, 1946 in Beadle County, Huron, South Dakota. They made their home in rural Le Sueur and lived in Henderson for 50 plus years. She was a hard worker, caring wife, mother and friend and all in all a very generous soul. She is survived by her children, Patricia Del Testa of Prescott, AZ, Alan Van Buskirk (Bonnie) of Henderson, MN, Trudy Van Olson (friend, Greg) of Shakopee, Berman L. Van Buskirk of Hutchinson, MN and Myra Van Buskirk of Cross Lake, MN; stepchildren, Larry Van Buskirk of Le Sueur and Jean Hildebrandt of Cross Lake, MN; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents; spouse, Berman; sisters, Evelyn Molkenbur, Mildred Unze and Mary Lou Busch; brothers, Harold, Eugene and Henry and grandson, Mark Hildebrandt & son-in-law, Charles A. Hildebrandt.
