Terry E. Klages passed away Sunday, Nov. 3, 2024 at home in Arlington, Minnesota. Memorial Mass will be on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Arlington. Visitation will be in the church social hall from 10:30 a.m. ~ 11:30 a.m. Lunch to follow the 11:30 a.m. Mass. Burial will be at a later time at Prairie View Cemetery in Village of the Lake Hallie, Wisconsin. Fr. Paul Timmerman will officiate the Mass.
Terry was born March 4, 1948 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, to Edward & Rose (Theisen) Klages.
He attended Holy Ghost Grade School and McDonell High School in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, graduating in 1966.
He earned a bachelor’s degree from St. Mary’s in Winona, Minnesota in 1970 and a Master’s degree from Loyola University several years later.
Terry served for many years as a religious education coordinator in several Catholic parishes in Wisconsin, Minnesota, & Michigan.
Upon retirement, Terry settled in Arlington, Minnesota where he made many friends. He was active in the Knights of Columbus (3rd and 4th Degree), was the secretary for the Sibley County Democratic Party, and was previously active in the Arlington Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of and lector at the Church of St. Mary in Arlington.
Terry enjoyed watching and talking football and was knowledgeable about the game, several teams and many players. As a Wisconsin native, he was a big fan of the Green Bay Packers.
Terry is survived by four siblings: sister Roxanne (John) Muldoon of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, sister Sandra (Jerry) Dykstra of Troy, Michigan, brother Thomas Klages of Waukesha, Wisconsin and brother Bradley Klages, also of Waukesha, Wisconsin. He is further survived by a nephew, Jared (Anna) Dykstra and a niece, Lauren Pavlov, and three great-nieces, all of Dexter, Michigan.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents.
Kolden Funeral Home in Arlington is handling arrangements.
