Theodore "Ted" Welter

Theodore "Ted" John Welter, age 88 of Le Sueur, died on Saturday morning, December 14, 2024, at Oak Terrace Senior Living Facility in Le Sueur, MN.  Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, December 21, 2024, 10:00 a.m. at The Church of St. Peter in St. Peter, MN, followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery in St. Peter.  Visitation will be at the church that morning from 9:00 a.m. ~ 10:00 a.m.  Rosary prayers will also occur prior to mass. Lunch at the church following the graveside services.

Ted was born on May 18, 1936, in Le Sueur to Theodore and Rose (Modert) Welter. He grew up in the area and graduated from Le Sueur High School in 1954. Following graduation, he joined the United States Army where he served for 2 years in Germany as a military policeman.

He attended Vo-Tech school to learn everything he could to become a farmer. He did not grow up farming, as his father passed away before he was born and the family rented out the farm and moved to town. Ted loved everything about farming and was proud that his son Peter took over when he retired.

Ted married Donna (Boys) on April 8, 1967, in St. Peter, MN and together they raised 5 children. He was a man of great faith and loved spending time with his family.  Alongside Donna, Ted deepened his faith by becoming a member of the private canonical Association of the Catholic Church, the Brothers and Sisters of Penance of Saint Francis.  He is remembered as a prayer warrior and a devout Catholic.

Ted is survived by his children, Thea Kramer of St. Paul, Ruth (Todd) Neumann of Sturgeon Lake, Peter (Kami) Welter of St. Peter, Joe (Angie) Welter of Eagan, and Paul (Kellee) Welter of Eden Prairie and 6 grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Donna in 2017; and brother, Mark Welter.
