Theresa Ann (Fahey) Renne

Theresa (nèe Fahey) Renne, age 82 of Belle Plaine, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at her home in Belle Plaine surrounded by her loving family.   Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 11 at Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church in Belle Plaine with Fr. Brian Lynch officiating.  Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10 at the Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine, and will continue Thursday morning at the church one hour prior to Mass.  Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Belle Plaine.

Theresa’s life began on the family farm in Faxon Township on April 27, 1937 to William and Bridget (Walsh) Fahey.  She was the seventh of nine children.  She attended Kerry Lake Country School and St. Peter and Paul’s Catholic School.  She graduated from Belle Plaine High School in 1955.  On January 4, 1958 Theresa married William “Bud” Renne at St. John’s Evangelist Catholic Church in Faxon Township.

Theresa was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  Her family was the love and center of her life.  She enjoyed baking, growing flowers, canning and freezing what they grew in their large garden, as well as watching and studying the birds.

She is survived by her husband, Bud; six children, Patricia (Bill) Smith of Eagan, Steven (Ann) Renne of Belle Plaine, Scott Renne of Belle Plaine, Glenn Renne of Cloquet, Diane (Gene) Stier of Hamburg, and Karla (Tim) Krohn of Madison, WI; grandchildren, Kyle Smith, Mikayla (fiancé, Joe Skusa) Smith, Jodi (Matt) Schauer, Danielle Renne, Liam Renne, Andrew (Carissa) Stier, and Sage Krohn; great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Hayden Stier, and Ethan Schauer; siblings, Dorothy Bartels of Belle Plaine, Eleanor (Jim) Caneff of Hastings, Kenneth (Theresa) Fahey of Chaska, and Roger (Doris) Fahey of Belle Plaine; sisters-in-law, Polly Fahey of Belle Plaine and Rosie Fahey of Jordan; and many brothers/sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Theresa is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, William Fahey, Eugene (Mary) Fahey, and Patrick Fahey; sister, Ruth (Bill) Effertz; and brother-in-law, Merlin Bartels.
