Theresia A. (Terry) Keenan

Theresia Anne (Terry) Keenan , age 64, of Le Sueur, found her deserved place in heaven on Saturday, February 26,2011 at the Minnesota Valley Health Center in Le Sueur after a seven month battle with cancer and a week long stream of visitors who's lives were touched by Terry in one way or another. Funeral service will be held at 11 am on March 2nd, 2011 at St Anne's Catholic Church in Le Sueur with Father George Grafsky officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Le Sueur. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm on March 1st, 2011 and will continue from 9 to 10:45 am at the Kolden Funeral Home in Le Sueur. Terry was born to Robert (Bob) and Lorraine (Leadstrom) Blaschko on February 9, 1947 in New Prague, MN. She graduated from McKinley High School in Le Center in 1965. She worked as a Nurse's Aide at Minnesota Valley Hospital in Le Sueur until 1969. She married Mike Keenan on September 6, 1969 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Le Center. Terry also worked as the parish secretary for St. Anne's Church until 1996, and as a Paraprofessional at Le Sueur-Henderson High School until her health forced her from her position. Mike and Terry lived in Columbia, South Carolina for one year while Mike completed his military service. They returned to Le Sueur where Terry began her 40-year involvement with children as a day care provider, a volunteer, CCD Coordinator at St Anne's school and at Le Sueur-Henderson Middle/High School, among numerous other things. Terry thoroughly enjoyed her family and friends, calligraphy, attending the activities of her sons, nieces and nephews and watching the young people she worked with grow educationally, physically and emotionally on the field of competition, as well as in life. Terry is survived by her mother, Lorraine Blaschko of Le Center, her husband, Mike of Le Sueur, son, Peter and his wife Julissa and granddaughter Sofia and grandson Andre of Hercules, California and son Andy of St Peter; siblings, Bill (Naomi) Blaschko, Denny (Eve) Blaschko, Dick (Joni) Blaschko and Jeanne (Tim) Traxler all of Le Center; Brother in laws, Marty (Mary) Keenan of Golden Valley, Tony (Kathy) Keenan of Spring Lake Park, Louie (Sue) Keenan of Golden Valley and Emmett (Barb) Keenan of St. Cloud. Terry is also survived by 25 nieces and nephews and 21 grand nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Bob Blaschko on July 6, 2010 as well as four brothers and sisters that died at birth.
