Vicki R. Keith

Vicki Keith, age 71 of Belle Plaine, formerly of Savage & Willmar, passed away on April 25, 2023 at Kingsway Retirement Living Memory Care/Sophie’s Suites in Belle Plaine, MN.

Vicki Rae Anderson was born in Swift Falls, MN on December 17, 1951 to Marvin and Lavon (Ihnen) Anderson.  She grew up in Willmar with three sisters and two brothers.  She graduated from Willmar High School in 1970, and later from Willmar Area Vocational Technical Institute, with a Nursing degree. On July 3, 1970 she married Michael Keith at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Willmar. They raised two sons in Willmar and remained there until 1987 when the family moved to Shakopee MN. Her husband Michael was made manager of a newly opened Northern States Supply store in Eden Prairie. They remained in the Shakopee/Savage area for 25 years until moving to Belle Plaine. Vicki began her career as a nurse in Willmar, working at Rice Memorial Hospital and KindleHope residential facility for developmentally disabled.  She continued nursing in the Burnsville/Savage area for Quello Clinic. She retired in 2013 as a charge nurse for the Allina Healthcare System.  She loved helping people and loved the people she worked with. Vicki is remembered as a kind, loving, honest soul, who was always willing to help anyone who needed it.

Vicki enjoyed travelling all over the United States with her husband, Mike.  They made many memories on their adventures. She enjoyed taking photographs of everything good in life, and always had a camera near for the next memory that she could freeze in time.  She loved documenting the lives of her two son’s when they were involved in sports, careers, and their own families. She adored her grandchildren, to which she held important titles such as Grammy and Nana.  Her most memorable trips with her grandchildren were to South Dakota’s Black Hills, where they would camp at the Palmer Gulch KOA. She was a wonderful grandmother who most definitely spoiled her grandchildren any chance she could.  She will be greatly missed by her grateful and loving grandchildren.

Vicki is survived by her husband of almost 53 years, Michael of Savage, Sons, Jason Keith of Willmar and Jamie (Bonnie) Keith of Shakopee, Grandchildren, Michael, Amanda, Owen, and Joel.  Sister, Vani (Michael) Phelps, of Lakeville, Brother, Michael Anderson, of Newfolden, Sister, Verna (Fred) Midbrod, of Silver Bay, Sister Val Carlson (Jim Hoffmann), of Svea, & Many Nieces & Nephews.

Vicki is preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Lavon Anderson, and brother, Mark Anderson.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11a.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at the Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine.  Rev. Ed Fredrich will officiate.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  A reception and lunch will follow the service at The Vet’s Club in Belle Plaine.
