Viola "Babe" Norman, born to Fred and Viola Reed November 14, 1931 passed away October 16, 2011 at Oak Terrace Retirement Community in Gaylord, MN. Babe grew up in St. Paul, MN. She married Gerald Larson, Sr. in April 1949. She worked as a store associate at the Emporium for several years. In May 1969 she married Robert Stevens, and in 1970 they move from St. Paul to Pine River, MN where she worked as a waitress. In April 1979 she married James Norman. In 1990 she went to work as a hostess at the Marina restaurant at Breezy Point Resort, where she worked until she retired in 2001. Babe loved to be around people and visit with the guests at the resort. When she wasn't working she enjoyed camping, swimming, and traveling to different places with her children. The last few years she began suffering from Dementia caused from head trauma. She spent the last year in an assisted living environment until the first of September where she was moved to a nursing home. Babe was loved and will be sorely missed by her family, extended family and many friends. She is survived by her children: Dianna (Jerry) Smith, Hobbs, NM, Gerald (Jay) Larson, Daniel (Edith) Larson, Randall Larson, Brad (Lori) Larson, all of Pine River, MN, Joi (Neil) Martin of Arlington, MN, and Robbin (Angie) Stevens of Duluth, MN, grandchildren, Frank (Becky) Miller, Paul (Cheryl) Miller, Coleman Larson, Daniel Larson, Jr., Jeffrey (Becky) Larson, Samantha (Gerad) Cowells, Sabrina (Bob) Jones, Amanda Larson, Tricia Martin, Tyler Martin, Kayla Larson, Keri Larson-Miller, Kody Stevens, Kaleb Stevens and several great-grandchildren and numerous members of her extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Viola, sons Bryan Larson and David Larson, granddaughters, Denise Menk and PatsyBabe Smith. No services per her request.
