Virginia A. Rethwill

Virginia A. Rethwill, age 91 of Le Sueur, died on Monday evening, November 6, 2017 at the Minnesota Valley Health Center in Le Sueur. Funeral services will be on Friday, November 17, 2017, United Methodist Church in Le Sueur. Visitation will be on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at the Kolden Funeral Home in Le Sueur from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church the morning of the services from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Mound Cemetery, Le Sueur, MN. Lunch to follow services at church. Virginia was born on July 17, 1926 to Edward & Emma (Steinegweg) Braun in rural Le Center, MN. She grew up in the Le Center area and graduated from Le Center High School. She did clerical work at Green Giant in Le Sueur for a short time before she was married. She married Robert Rethwill on June 15, 1948 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Le Center. The couple lived in Sharon Township, Le Sueur County for many years. After her children started school she worked for a while as a buyer at Spors Co. in Le Center. She later worked for many years in the office at Gopher State Silica Sand in Ottawa until her retirement in the early ‘70s. Virginia enjoyed her work in the church, time with the Le Sueur County Home Extension, gardening and helping Robert farm. She is survived by her children; Jim (Mary "Meg") Rethwill of Le Center, MN; Michael Rethwill of Oakdale, MN; Craig (Julianne) Rethwill of Scottsdale, AZ and Lori (Robin) Rethwill of Rochelle, Ill. Eight Grandchildren and 11 Great-Grandchildren. Brother, Neal (Sally) Braun of Hutchinson, MN and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert in 2005; Great Granddaughter, Riley Jean; brothers, Eugene and David Braun; sister, Carol Welckle and daughter-in-law; Patricia Rethwill. Memorials preferred to the United Methodist Church of Le Sueur or American Diabetes Association.
