Vivian (Stoeckman) Meyer

Vivian J. Meyer, 87, of Green Isle, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at Bayside Manor in Gaylord, MN.  Funeral service will be on Friday, August 15, 2025, 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Green Isle, MN.  Visitation will be at the church on Thursday, from 4:00 p.m. ~ 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Friday morning. Burial will be in the church cemetery followed by lunch at the church.  Rev. Eric Rapp will officiate the services.

Born on April 16, 1938, in Washington Lake township Sibley County MN, to Edwin and Gertrud (Scheele) Stoeckman.  She was baptized on April 24, 1938 at Emanuel Lutheran Church, Hamburg by Rev H.J. Bowman. Vivian was confirmed on April 6, 1952 at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Hamburg by Rev. L. T. Wohlfeil.  Vivian was united in marriage to Orlin Meyer on November 4, 1956 at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Hamburg by Rev. L.T. Wohlfeil.  They spent 60 years of marriage together before his passing on December 26, 2016.

Vivian was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, friend and Minnesota Twins fan.  She worked hard on the farm and took exceptional care of her family. Vivian started her 29 year career in 1987 at Young America Mutual Fire Insurance. She was active at St Paul Lutheran Church serving several capacities as the Church Secretary, Treasurer, Cemetery caretaker, Janitor, Choir, and Ladies Aid. Vivian enjoyed many sporting events, community functions, and working in her many gardens and flower beds.

Vivian is survived by her children; Curtis (Judith) Meyer, Janelle (Barongo) Petzel, John (Tamera) Meyer, Lori (Curtis) Weckwerth, Anita (Richard) Quast, Suzanne (Martin) Milam, and William (Sonya) Meyer. Grandchildren; Kristen (Travis) Simon, Kort Meyer, Curtiss, Kyle (Krista), and Timothy (Tamra) Petzel, Jennifer (Jared) Mackenthun and Scott Meyer, Amanda (Justin) Thaemert, Adam (Katie) and Austin Weckwerth, Emily (fiancée Bradley Yates) and Benjamin Quast, (Special friend, Crystal Graybear) Aaron (Hallie) Meyer, Elizabeth and Sara Milam, Mason and Michelle Meyer.  Great Grandchildren; Kelvin Simon, Alexis and Sami Petzel, Hailey and Braden Petzel, Mila Petzel, Brianna Howk, Trent and Olivia Mackenthun, Ava Meyer, Victoria Thaemert, Ethan and Elsie Meyer. Siblings; Kenneth (Verlinda) Stoeckman, Rollin (Beth) Stoeckman, Bernard (Bonnie) Stoeckman, Allen (Leanne) Stoeckman. Sister-in-laws Bonnie Meyer and Ramona Meyer.
