Waldo R. Reesen

Waldo Raymond Reesen was born on March 18, 1930 in Jasper, MN to Carl and Martha (Fink) Reesen. He had 1 brother and 6 sisters. He served in the Korean War 1952-1954. In 1958 he married Joann Dirckx in Ghent, MN. The couple had 3 sons and 1 daughter. The family moved to Arlington in 1970. Waldo retired from Waldbaums in 2000. He also worked as a farm hand for local farmers, and did seasonal work at Big Stone for many years. Waldo passed away on Wednesday, February 14th, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Assisted Living in Arlington, where he had resided for only 9 days. He died peacefully and was happy in his new home. He was 87 years and 320 days old. His wife, Joann, her mother (Agnes Dirckx), his parents, 1 brother, 3 sisters, 3 brothers-in-law, and 2 sisters-in-law have preceded him in death. He is survived by 3 sons: Ray (Jean), Bob, Rich, and 1 daughter, Mary Ann Hector. He has 5 grandchildren, & 6 great-grandchildren. He will be missed by his 3 sisters and other family members. There will be a Celebration of Waldo's life Saturday, March 10th, 2018 in the VFW/Legion building from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Sibley County Fairgrounds, 801 W. Chandler St., Arlington, MN.
