Walter Litzau

Walter Litzau, age 93 years, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, April 27, 2024 with his family by his side. Funeral service will be 11:00A.M. on Friday, May 3, 2024 at the First Lutheran Church in Glencoe, MN. Rev. Don Andrix will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church on Friday. Interment will be in the First Lutheran Church Cemetery in Glencoe, MN. A luncheon will follow the graveside service at the church.

Walter was born on March 23, 1931 in Glencoe, Minnesota to William and Frieda (Stradtmann) Litzau on the family farm, where he spent most of his life. He was Baptized and Confirmed at the First Lutheran Church in Glencoe, MN. He attended Christian Day School until the 8th grade and graduated from Glencoe High School in 1949. Walter served in the U.S. Army for two years. In 1958, he married Marjorie Wandrei at the Zion Lutheran Church in Hopkins, MN and were blessed with 65 years of marriage. They were blessed with two sons. In his younger years he enjoyed fishing, attending auctions, baling hay and spending time with family and friends. Walter was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, one brother, daughter in law, two brothers in law, one sister in law and two nephews.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie of Glencoe, MN; sons, Timothy (Dawn) of Staples, MN and Scott (Cindy) Litzau of Glencoe, MN; 4 grandchildren Matthew, Blake, Brent and Grace and  sister, Eunice.
