Walter P. Maus, age 78, of rural Henderson died at home on February 27, 2011. He was born on March 5, 1932 in Henderson Township, Sibley County to Albert and Bertha (Ische) Maus. He graduated from Henderson High School, Class of 1951. On May 4, 1957 he married Regina M. Glisczinski at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lexington, MN. They farmed together on the farm where he was raised and where they retired. Walter also did livestock trucking for a time. Walter was an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Henderson and the Catholic Order of Foresters. He served on the Henderson School Board for many years. Walter was at one time the President of Sibley County Farm Bureau. He was involved with the Henderson LiveWires 4-H Club growing up and again with his children when they were members. Walter was known to always have a joke to tell to brighten your day. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Regina; his six children, Donna (Bill) Grunwald of Apple Valley, Ann (Charlie) Hartman of New Prague, David (Pauline) Maus of New Prague, JoAnn (Roger) Meyer of Henderson, MaryJo (Rick) Sauter of Cologne, Roger (Denice) Maus of Henderson; and many grandchildren. Walter was preceded in death by his parents. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Henderson. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 1 at the church, and also one hour prior to service time. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Henderson.
