Wayne Brenke

August 11, 1942 — February 5, 2020

Belle Plaine

Wayne G. Brenke, age 77 of Belle Plaine, lost his battle with Multiple Sclerosis on February 5, 2020 at the Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine.  Memorial service will be at 11 A.M. on Friday, February 14, 2020 at St. John Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine.  Rev. Mark Johnson will officiate.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.  Interment will be at a later date at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Belle Plaine.

Wayne was born in Belle Plaine on August 11, 1942 to Gilbert & Loretta (Buesgens) Brenke.  He was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine.  On May 23, 1986 he married Karen Kane at Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church in Belle Plaine.  Wayne was a boilermaker, building and repairing power plants and refineries in a three state area.  He was a member of Boilermakers Local 647 of 45 plus years.

He lived every day to the fullest and never felt sorry for himself.  He was a “natural fixer.”  His life philosophy was, “this is the hand God dealt me.”  Although sometimes limited to what he was able to do, he managed to keep it all together.  Wayne loved playing cards on the PC almost daily and enjoyed watching Judge Judy and Shark Tank.

Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, mother in law & father in law, brothers in law, Al Larson, Kevin Kane, sister in law, Kathy Turek & niece Megan Kane.

He is survived by his wife Karen,

Son, Jeff (Teresa) Brenke of Shakopee,

Daugher, Rochelle (Reid) Faulkner of Chandler, AZ,

Grandchildren, Victoria, Olivia & Joseph Brenke and Hannah Faulkner,

Sister, LaVonne Lord of Farmington,

Many Nieces & Nephews.

Wayne was loved and will be missed by all.  Memorials are preferred to the Minnesota MS Society or donor’s choice.
