William F. "Bill" James, age 74 of Belle Plaine died on April 16, 2012 at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30am on Thursday at Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4-8pm at the Kolden Funeral Home and continue one hour prior to the service at Kolden Funeral Home on Thursday. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Belle Plaine. Bill was born in Bemidji on August 23, 1937 to Frank and Francis (Ward) James. He grew up in Robinsdale and graduated from Robinsdale High School in 1955. On October 8, 1960 he married Marilyn Hoffman in Brooklyn Center. He worked for Western Electric and McCulloch making boat motors, as well as working for Northern Pacific Railroad. He also worked as a police officer in Edina, MN. They lived in Belle Plaine for 23 years where they boarded horses on their farm. Bill loved training horses and giving riding lessons and was a past Sibley County Posse member. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, brother, and cousins. He is survived by his wife Marilyn of Belle Plaine, Daughter, Terri James of Shakopee, Son, Mark (Karen) James of Kilkenny, Grandchildren, Sabrina James, Tara Syde, Kolten James & Justin James, Sister, Judith of Minneapolis, Many nieces and nephews.
