 
            William "Bill" Hardel, age 89 of Gaylord, died Saturday, June 30, 2012 at the Oak Terrace Health Care Center in Gaylord. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 6, 2012 at St. John's Lutheran Church in rural Arlington. Rev. William Postel will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at the church, and also one hour prior to the service time on Friday at church. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Bill was born on August 9, 1922 to William and Laura (Ayer) Hardel in Kelso Township, Sibley County. He grew up in Rush River, rural Le Sueur. He married Ellanora Wiese on November 15, 1945. He farmed most of his life in Rush River. He was always an active member at St. John's Lutheran Church. He loved music and playing the harmonica. He also enjoyed woodworking. Bill is survived by his children, Judy (Ray) Hartmann of Shelby Twp., MI, Marla Honebrink of Lincoln, NE, Glen (Barb) Hardel of Le Sueur, Brenna (Jerry) Thompson of Courtland, Avis (Elverne) Jacobus of Le Sueur, Lonnie (Dennis) Rabe of Arlington, Gaylan (Sally) Hardel of Le Sueur and Warren (Dawn) Hardel of Le Sueur; 24 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; sisters, Laura Renneke, Ruth Sander and Ethel Mathwig; sisters-in-law, Helen Hardel and Ruby Hardel. Bill is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ellanora; sons, Dennis and Sheldon Hardel; and siblings.
