William C. Herrmann, age 89 of Le Sueur, died at his home on Friday, August 26, 2011. Memorial services will be on Friday, Sept. 2, 2011 @ 11:00 a.m. at Zion United Church of Christ in Le Sueur with Rev. Beth Benson, officiating. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the services at church. Military rites will follow services outside the church. William was born on April 5, 1922 to William and Anna (Kroells) Herrmann in Hancock Township, Carver County, MN. He grew up in the Henderson area and graduated from Henderson High School in 1942 and was part of the 1941 Henderson Football Team that was ranked #1 in the country. He entered the United States Army in the Fall of 1942 serving in Europe during World War II. After his service he married Lorraine Castor on April 24, 1946 in Minneapolis, MN. The couple moved to Le Sueur in 1946 where he worked for almost 40 years with Green Giant in Le Sueur as a Mechanical Draftsman. He retired in 1984. Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, softball, ping pong, cards, Minnesota Twins Baseball, Vikings Football and building furniture for the kids. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine; Children, Jo Nelson of New Prague, MN, Jill (Greg) Frank of Le Sueur, Jack (Tami) Herrmann of Le Sueur, MN and Jim (Angie) Herrmann of Le Sueur, MN; 7 Grandchildren and 8 Great-Grandchildren; Sister, Veleida Schmidt of Le Sueur; and Many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and 4 sisters.
