William "Bill" Mediger

William E. Mediger, age 86 of Le Sueur, passed away on October 11, 2026. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2026 at 11 A.M. at Grace Lutheran Church in Le Sueur. Visitation will be held one hour prior at the church. Interment will be in Mound Cemetery, Le Sueur, MN.

William was born on January 3, 1940, in his grandmother’s home in rural Le Sueur. He spent his childhood growing up in the country and attended Le Sueur High School, graduating in 1958. Never one to shy away from a hard day’s work, Bill wasted no time entering the workforce following graduation. He began his working years at the creamery, later worked for Green Giant, and eventually went on to prepare MREs for Pillsbury.

In 1965, Bill married the love of his life, Carolyn Olson, at Grace Lutheran Church in Le Sueur. Together, they built a beautiful life, raising their three children, Beth, Tom, and Jason. Their house was more than just a place to call home; it was where they spent 60 wonderful years together, filling it with a lifetime of love, memories, and family.

Bill was a hardworking man through and through, and was affectionately known as “Mr. Fix It”. There wasn't much he couldn't figure out or lend a helping hand with, and he took pride in a job well done. A faithful member of Grace Lutheran Church, Bill devoted many years to serving on the church council. He also had a special place in his heart for his community and particularly enjoyed lending a hand to the Giant Days Committee with their annual Corn Feed, a tradition he proudly helped with for many years. When he wasn't busy working on something, Bill spent his time woodworking, caring for his yard, and most importantly, spending time with his family. He was a man who showed his love not only through words, but through the things he did for others.

Bill is survived by his wife, Carolyn; children, Beth (Tim) Quist of Apple Valley, MN, Tom (Aimee) Mediger of Apple Valley, MN, and Jason (Jody) Mediger of St. Peter, MN; grandchildren, Cayla Mook & Mallory Quist, Ethan &Emily Mediger, and Benjamen & Tanner Mediger; as well as 5 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Wayne Mediger.
