William E. Nye

William E. "Bill" Nye, age 81 of Henderson died, surrounded by his family, on September 21, 2016 at his Jessenland Township farm. He was born on January 7, 1935 in Henderson to Carl and Lillian (Schrupp) Nye. Bill attended country school and Henderson High School. He entered the Army Reserves in 1957. He married Marlene Selsvold on February 5, 1965 at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Henderson and he farmed the family farm in Jessenland Township all of his life. Bill was a member of the Henderson Post # 74 in Henderson, former member of the Henderson Masonic Lodge and a life-long member of St. Paul's UCC having served on the church council. He loved farming, fishing, wood working, his dogs, cutting and splitting wood. He is survived by his wife, Marlene Children, Charles (Tammy) Nye, Carl (Dana) Nye and Tammy (Tom) Meyer all of Henderson. 4 Grandchildren, Austin & Ashley Nye and Megan & Tiffany Meyer. Siblings, Edward Nye and Elaine Nelson. He was preceded in death by parents, Carl and Lillian; siblings, Myrtle Zschunke, Orma "Pat" Anderson, Ruth Vandenacre and Charles "Chuck" Nye. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 26, 2016 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Henderson. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday at the church and one hour prior to the services. Interment will be in the Brown Cemetery in Henderson.
