Winifred Gertrude Witzany

Winifred “Winnie” Witzany, age 83, died Sunday, December 16, 2018 in Franklin, MN.  Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 21, 2018 at the Kolden Funeral Home in Le Sueur, with a one hour prior visitation. Luncheon and fellowship to follow at St. Anne’s School.  Interment will be at a later date in the Calvary Cemetery, Le Sueur.

Winifred was born on September 8, 1935  to August and Lillian (Deitz) Witzany in Sibley County, MN.  She grew up west of Le Sueur and later attended Mankato Commercial College and worked for a while as a typist for Mutual Services Insurance Co.  She enjoyed her time on the family farm west of Le Sueur and enjoyed the animals especially her horses.  Winnie was quite a baker and cook.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Betty Witzany; nephew, William Witzany, Jr.; and many other relatives.  She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, William, and an infant brother.
