Yvonne E. Degroot

Yvonne E. DeGroot, age 82 of Brainerd, formerly of Le Sueur, died on Friday, Sept. 30 in Brainerd. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Le Sueur. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be in Brown Cemetery, Henderson, MN. Rev. Carl Bruihler will officiate the services. Yvonne was born on May 29, 1929 in St. Peter, Minnesota to Ernest and Gladys (Whips) Cooke. She grew up in Cleveland, Minnesota. She worked several domestic jobs for farmers in the outskirts of the twin cities for many years. She lived her retirement years in Le Sueur and moved to Brainerd to be near her son because of her bad health. She is survived by her son, LeRoy Cooke of Brainerd, MN 5 Grandchildren, 12 Great-Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great-Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ray in 1985 and her parents.
