Allan L. Schlueter

 
Allan Leonhard Schlueter, age 83, of Le Sueur, MN passed away at his home on September 28, 2023. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at First Lutheran Church in Le Sueur, MN at 3 P.M. A visitation will be at the church from 1 to 3 P.M. Burial will be at Mound Cemetery in Le Sueur, MN. 

Al was born on December 30, 1939 in St. Peter, MN to Leonhard and Henrietta Schlueter. He enjoyed his early years living in the country near Gotha, MN. He graduated from Le Sueur High School in 1957. After graduation he joined the United States Army, stationed in Fort Leonard Wood, MO. Al then attended Mankato State College. He was employed as a millwright and machinist by Green Giant-Pillsbury-American Can-Silgan Container Division in Savage, MN for 40 years. Al married Ramona (Otting) on September 4, 1959 in Le Sueur, MN. 

Al was a master of many trades. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, and fishing. As certified divers, Al and Ramona traveled to several warm and tropical locations to scuba dive, sail, and spend time with good friends. He treasured being actively involved in the lives of  his grandchildren by attending choir concerts and ball games, along with birthday parties, family events, and other activities.

Al is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ramona; sons, Scott Schlueter of Le Sueur, MN and Brent (Amy) Schlueter of Minnetrista, MN; grandsons, Preston (Laura) Schlueter and Parker Schlueter, Sam (Mel) Pioske and Seth Pioske (Amanda Hansen); great-grandchildren, Gibson, Amarah, Shane and Jason Pioske; sister, Helen Smith of Belle Plaine, MN; sisters-in-law, Denise Schlueter of Coon Rapids, MN and Joann Otting of Le Sueur, MN; brothers-in-law, Ron (Doris) Otting of Orange, CA, John Otting (Carol Schroer) of Le Sueur, MN, Danny (Susi) Otting of Le Sueur, MN; and nieces and nephews, Teri Kiewatt, Dan Smith, Steve Smith, Bob Smith, Mike Smith, Eric Schlueter, Jeff Schlueter, Greg Schlueter, Steve Otting, Molly Tellijohn, Katie Gilbertson, Blake Otting, and Kelsey McConkey.

He is preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Marie (Harder) Schlueter; father and mother in-law Floyd and Georgia Otting; brother, Roland Schlueter; brothers-in-law, Jim Otting and Jack Smith; sister-in-law, Mimi Otting; niece, Rhonda VanDerlaske; and grandson, Brent Schlueter Jr.
