Arlene Latzke, age 83 of Green Isle passed away on Monday, September 27, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 1st at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Green Isle. Visitation will be held prior to the service at church from 9:30 until service time. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Arlene Ann Latzke was born on August 16, 1938 in Gaylord to Alby and Lydia (Stuedemann) Wolters. She was confirmed April 1952 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Arlington Township. She married Kenneth Latzke May 18 1957. Arlene worked side by side with husband of 62 years running the family farm, she was the bookkeeper for the farm business, the grain business and the trucking company. Arlene was a great cook and baker, the farm business required to hire helping hands and all that were hired knew that they would be getting the best meals when working at the Latzke farm. Arlene loved gardening and always maintained two large gardens, she would can and freeze her harvest every year to last until the next garden harvest, she also enjoyed her beautiful flower gardens. She enjoyed reading, and watching the many birds that gathered at her feeders. She especially loved being together with family and enjoyed all the time spent with grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where she was a long time member of the St Pauls Ladies Aid, she also enjoyed the many years that she taught Sunday School.
Arlene is preceded in death by her parents, husband Kenneth, sons Curtis and Steven, brother Merlin and sister Marlys VonBerge. She is survived by her children; Kathy (Tom) Ott, Mike (Susan) Latzke and Vicky Eischens (Tim Erickson), 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, sister; Irma Born, nieces and nephew
