Bernice Strobel

Bernice Bernarda (nee Pass) Strobel, age 92 of Arlington passed away on Saturday,  April 4, 2020 at GlenFields Living with Care in Glencoe. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 8, 2020 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Arlington with interment to follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.

Bernice was born on April 29, 1927 in Victoria, Minnesota to Peter and Rose (Williams) Pass. She was a 1945 graduate of Guardian Angels High School in Chaska. On July 2, 1946 she married Francis Strobel at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Chaska. Her & Francis farmed and raised their 11 children on their farm in Dryden Township. She spent many years working at Arlington’s Good Samaritan home and volunteering at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

She is survived by her children Thomas (Judi) Strobel of Chaska, Suzanne Rosckes of Glencoe, Stephen (Alyson) Strobel of Colorado, Ronald (Patty) Strobel of Henderson, Roseanne (Thomas) Buckley of New Hope, Joanne (Steven) Kleist of Richfield, Robert (Michelle) Strobel of Plato, Mark (Lisa) Strobel of Arlington, Gerard (Kathy) Strobel of Glencoe, Bridgid (Chris) Furmanek of Lake in the Hills, Ill., Jena (Kevin) McFadden of Lakeville and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She is further survived by siblings Angie Rogers, Rose “Toots” Raser, Helen Link, Anne Simons; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-laws Aggie Pass, Elaine Winter, Cathy Pass, Betty Pass, Elaine Winter, Donald (Betty) Strobel, Marion (Myron) Helget.

Bernice is preceded in death by her husband, parents, son-in-law Stephen Rosckes, brothers, Bill, John & Arthur Pass; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Norbert “Bert” Rogers, Sonny Raser, Cletus Link, Denis Simons, Rueben(Helen) Moehring, Jean(John) Leonhardt.

She lived a life committed to family, church and God. She will be missed.

Memorials are preferred to St. Mary's Catholic Church or Sibley County Food Shelf.
