Dale Edwin Kessler, age 77 of Belle Plaine, passed away on Saturday, September 17, at Oak Terrace in Le Sueur. Memorial Service will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in rural Henderson. Rev. Foy Christopherson will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday the 28th at the Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine and continue one hour prior to the service at church on Thursday morning. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Dale was born in New Prague on July 11, 1945 to Edwin and Verna (Brockoff) Kessler. He grew up on the family farm. He graduated from Le Sueur High School in 1963. He served in the Army Reserves and after high school he continued working on the family farm. Dale served on the Le Sueur Farmers Elevator Board. He was a lifetime member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, serving on the church council and was a member of the Redeemer Brotherhood. On August 17, 1968 he married Kathy Doyle at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Henderson. From this marriage they were blessed with two children, William and Amy. They farmed Dale’s family farm for many years before moving to Belle Plaine in 2004. Dale enjoyed reading, playing cards, and traveling. Although, his biggest joy was farming.
Dale is survived by his wife, Kathy, Son, Bill (Tammie) Kessler of Henderson, Daughter, Amy (Jeremy) Fahey of Belle Plaine. Grandchildren, Elizabeth (special friend Sam Wagner), John, August, Daniel, & Marian Kessler, Emmett, Ezra, & Etta Fahey. Brother, Glenn (Norma) Kessler of Belle Plaine, Aunt, Luella Bromaghim. He is preceded in death by his parents.
