David Allen Klaustermeier, age 70 of Arlington, formerly of Norwood, died at the Ridgeview Medical Center in Arlington, MN on Saturday evening, October 7, 2023. Memorial service will be on Sunday, October 22, 2023, 2:00 p.m. at the Kolden Funeral Home in Arlington, MN. Visitation will be at the funeral home from Noon~ 2:00 p.m. that day. Rev. Robert F. Broeder will officiate the service.
David was born on March 23, 1953 in Glencoe, MN to Emil and Dora (Studeman) Klaustermeier. He grew up in the Norwood-Young America area and graduated from Central High School in Norwood in 1971. He married Mary Stundahl in Norwood on September 11, 1999. He worked as a carpenter in his earlier years then transitioned into installing refrigeration in stores and ended his career driving mail to the Minneapolis postal center. He enjoyed working with his brother Donnie on the farm, singing karaoke, especially Kiss an Angel Good Morning to his wife, hunting, playing cards and collecting beer steins. He was in the Lions Club when he was much younger.
He is survived by his wife Mary of Arlington; daughter, Jaime Klaustermeier (and special friend Shane Bolf) of Chanhassen, MN and son, Chad (Jessica) Klaustermeier of Norwood-Young America. Step-children; Kristie (Steve) Dennison of Winona, MN, Chad (Karen) Scott of Arlington, MN and Melissa Scott of Minneapolis, MN, step son in law, Todd (Emily) Mayer and 15 Grandchildren. Brothers; Melvin (Pam) Klaustermeier of WI and Roger (Debbie) Klaustermeier of Norwood-Young America, MN. Sister, Janet (Billy) Paul of Wyoming, MN. Sisters-in-law; Jodi (Paul) Rewald of Big Lake, MN; Marian and Juliene Klaustermeier. Many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Virgil and Donald; sisters, Evangeline(Donald) Hedke and Lois (Dean) Richardson; Father-in-law, Melvin Stundahl; Brother-in-law,Mark Stundahl and sister-in-law, LeAnn Klaustermeier.
