E. JOHN BACH Obituary

(Ernest) John Bach, Jr., age 83, of Le Sueur and formerly of Henderson, passed away peacefully on the afternoon of November 20, 2020 at the Ridgeview Nursing Home and Rehab Center in Le Sueur, Minnesota. Memorial Mass will be on Thursday, June 10, 2021, 11:00 a.m, St. Anne's Church, Le Sueur, MN.  Visitation at church that morning, 9:00 a.m. ~ 11:00 a.m.  Burial with Military Honors to follow at Brown Cemetery, Henderson, MN.

John was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on May 13, 1937 to Ernest and Hazel (Muehlhausen) Bach of Henderson, MN. He grew up on the family farm in Jessenland Township, graduated in 1955 from Henderson High School, and went on to serve in the United States Navy.

John married Mary T. Strunk on September 6, 1958 at St. Mark Catholic Church in Shakopee. John and Mary lived and farmed in Jessenland Township for 40 years.

After retiring, John and Mary became “Snowbirds” and enjoyed 21 warm winters in Alamo, Texas. They enjoyed their home on German Lake with family during the summer months in Minnesota. In 2007, they moved to Le Sueur. Throughout the years, John loved camping, snowmobiling, golfing, playing cards, and socializing with friends and family. He especially enjoyed teasing his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

John was a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion, and Lions Club. He also served on the Henderson School Board and Sibley County Board of Commissioners. During his 16 years of County Commissioner service, he worked on Planning & Zoning and Library Boards and also with the Minnesota State Board of Health. When he was younger, he would fill in as a Substitute Rural Mail Carrier.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ernie and Hazel, his wife of 60 years, Mary (2019), and his son David J. Bach (2013).

John is survived by his children Julia (Kevin) Robak of St. Cloud, Robert Bach of Mankato, Joseph (Cindy) Bach of Mansfield, TX, and Thomas (Robbie) Bach of Henderson; daughter-in-law, Kristine Bach of Le Sueur; grandchildren, Trista Robak, Matthew (Megan) Robak, Nicole (Adam) Smith, Britany (Pat Edberg), Christopher, Andrew (MacKinsey), Kyle, Meredith, Nolan, and Ryan Bach; and great-grandchildren, Trinity and Tiana Gay, Owen and Samuel Smith, Isabelle Bach, and Bailey Edberg.
