Geraldine Higdon

Geraldine “Geri” Higdon, age 72 of Belle Plaine, passed away on November 21, 2020.  Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30am on Friday, November 27, 2020 at Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church in Belle Plaine.  Fr. Michael Kaluza will officiate.  Interment will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.

Geri was born in Shakopee. on June 17, 1948 to Gerald and Helen (Savage) Buesgens.  Geri attended elementary school at St. John’s in Jordan.  She grew up in Belle Plaine and graduated from Belle Plaine High School.  She worked as a nurse at St. Francis in Shakopee for 47 years.  She was a devoted member of the American Legion Auxilliary.  Geri also enjoyed bowling, knitting group and downhill skiing.  She especially loved her grandchildren and attending their activities.  She cherished every moment with them and always looked forward to their new adventures.  She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Darrell Buesgens, nephew Shawn Buesgens, great nephew Carter Overson, brothers in law, Dave Smith and Tom Oglesby, sister in law Theresa Buesgens and many special friends.

Geri is survived by her daughter, Amy (Jason) Ladd of Belle Plaine,

Grandchildren, Austen (special friend Mandy), Aiden, Carsen and Jensen.
