Harlen Voight Obituary

Harlen  A. Voight, age 86 of Green Isle passed away Friday, December 7, 2018 at his residence. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 18th at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Green Isle. A visitation will be two hours prior to the service time on Tuesday at the church. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Kolden Funeral Home of Arlington is handling arrangements.

Harlen Albert Voight was born on February 11, 1932 in Glencoe to Albert and Emma (Harjes) Voight. He graduated from Arlington-Green Isle High School. On November 15, 1958 he married Lillie Ann Trnka at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Green Isle. Harlen served in the Air Force during the Korean War as an Air Police in Hawaii. He started and ended his working career at Locher Bros. in Green Isle and in between those times worked as a custodian in the Green Isle School, Oak Grove Dairy in Norwood and ETN in Eden Prairie. Harlen loved to socialize. He also enjoyed woodworking and making clocks. He was a member and commander of the Green Isle American Legion Post 408.

Harlen is survived by his daughter: Laura Ann Voight of Arlington, son: Jeffrey Voight of Hopkins, sisters: Bernette Uecker of Arlington and Barb (Dick) Luepke of Arlington, sisters-in-law & brothers-in-law: Joann (Jeff) Jamieson of Oklahoma, Marlys Trnka of Glencoe, Lorraine Trnka of New Mexico and Lyman Trutna of Battle Lake. Harlen is preceded in death by his wife Lillie Ann, brother Ronald Voight and sister Marion Schuft
