Helen Patricia Quinn was born in a log home on 10 May 1933 in Jessenland Township, Sibley County, to Patrick Daniel and Mae Gertrude (Janke) Quinn. She grew up on a farm, attended country school, and graduated from Arlington High School in 1952. Helen met the love of her life, William "Bill" Joseph Schrank, and was united in holy matrimony on 07 January 1956 at the Church of St. Thomas the Apostle Jessenland. They made their home on the farm in Le Sueur, Sibley County, Henderson Township. They were blessed with eight children, seventeen grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Helen had a quirky sense of humor, a steadfast determination, and dedication to her role as a farmer's wife, mother, and grandmother. She treasured her time outdoors, working in the yard, gardening, and going for walks. Volunteering for church functions, listening to music, reading, embroidery, baking, canning, researching family history, traveling, and spending time with grandchildren brought her pleasure. Helen also communicated love to her family with her delicious baked goods. She would often say, "I had a good life."
