Helen Patricia Schrank, age 88 of Le Sueur, passed away peacefully on Saturday 02 October at Good Samaritan Society in Arlington due to complications of Alzheimer's.
Thursday 07 October there is a visitation from 9:00-10:45 am starting with the Rosary led by the Council of Catholic Women (CCW) at the Kolden Funeral Home. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of St. Anne in Le Sueur, with Pastor Fr. Chris Shofner officiating and interment at Calvary Cemetery.
Helen Patricia Quinn was born in a log home on 10 May 1933 in Jessenland Township, Sibley County, to Patrick Daniel and Mae Gertrude (Janke) Quinn. She grew up on a farm, attended country school, and graduated from Arlington High School in 1952. Helen met the love of her life, William "Bill" Joseph Schrank, and was united in holy matrimony on 07 January 1956 at the Church of St. Thomas the Apostle Jessenland. They made their home on the farm in Le Sueur, Sibley County, Henderson Township. They were blessed with eight children, seventeen grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Helen had a quirky sense of humor, a steadfast determination, and dedication to her role as a farmer's wife, mother, and grandmother. She treasured her time outdoors, working in the yard, gardening, and going for walks. Volunteering for church functions, listening to music, reading, embroidery, baking, canning, researching family history, traveling, and spending time with grandchildren brought her pleasure. Helen also communicated love to her family with her delicious baked goods. She would often say, "I had a good life."
Helen is survived by her children JoAnn (Dan) Duffy of Minneapolis, Tom Schrank (Mary Ann Start) of Le Sueur, Margaret of Le Sueur, John of Le Sueur, Marion (Jerry) Heinz of Henderson, Jean Tousley of Prior Lake, and Colleen Hughes of Hastings; grandchildren: Erin and Kathleen Duffy; Travis, Jacob, Mary, Patrick, and Michael Heinz; Joshua, Maria, Anissa, Joseph, Dominic, and Guadalupe Tousley; Emily, Sarah, Samantha, and Rachel Hughes; great-grandchildren Solin & Lucio Mendez Duffy; Jack Kasprowicz; Stella and Charlie Heinz. She is survived by her siblings; Alice Pfarr of Arlington, George (Sharon) Quinn of Prior Lake, and Mary “Maggie” (Gary) Kraemer of Sartell.
Helen was preceded in death, 2021, by her husband (Bill) of sixty-five years, parents, parent-in-laws Henry and Mary (Flannery) Schrank, brother-in-law Earl Pfarr, and son, James "Jim.”
