Jane E. Effertz, 62, Bloomington, died Friday, June 10, 2022. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, June 18, 10:30 a.m., Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church, Belle Plaine. Visitation, Friday, 4:00 p.m. ~ 7:00 p.m. Kolden Funeral Home, Belle Plaine and one hour prior to Mass at Church.
Jane was born February 15, 1960 to Stanley and Eileen (Walsh) Effertz in New Prague, MN. The family lived in Edina until she entered eighth grade when they moved to Belle Plaine. She graduated from Belle Plaine High School in 1978 and attended St. Benedict’s College in St. Joseph, MN. Jane later embarked on a lifelong career as a dispatcher for the Minnesota State Patrol. A profession in which she was exceptionally passionate and devoted.
Jane excelled in quilting and sewing and enjoyed singing in the St. Steven’s Church Choir in Bloomington. She enjoyed vacationing in Bonita Springs, FL and loved trips to Camp Stanley (deer camp). But perhaps her favorite pastime was doing art projects with her grand nephews, Luka and Kieran.
She is survived by her parents; Stanley and Eileen Effertz of Belle Plaine, MN, brothers; Richard (Sarah Jo) Effertz of Eureka Springs, AR, Donald (Jo Beth) Effertz of St. Peters, MO, and sister, Jean Marie (Joe) Murphy of Henderson, MN. Nieces and nephews; Sarah (Matt) Popek, Megan Buesgens, Kate (Andy) Halvorsen, Zach Effertz, Marie Effertz, Ellie Murphy, Jack Effertz, Lila Effertz, and Lauren Murphy. Grand nephews; Luka & Kieran Gleeson. Also survived by her former husband, Neil Sorensen of St. Paul.
