JoAnn M. Heinz

JoAnn Magdaline Heinz, age 87, of Henderson died Sunday, March 13, 2022 at Oak Terrace in Le Sueur, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, March 17th, 2022, 11:00 a.m, St. Joseph's Church, Henderson, MN.  Visitation will be at the Kolden Funeral Home, Le Sueur on Thursday, morning, starting with a 8:45 a.m. Rosary, and concluding at 10:30, we will then process to St. Joseph's in Henderson for the 11:00 a.m. Mass. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Cemetery.   Lunch to follow in church Social Hall.

JoAnn was born on January 12, 1935 in Belle Plaine, MN to Emmett and Oleta (Schuler) Hessian.  JoAnn graduated from St. Peter & Paul grade school, Belle Plaine HS and Mankato State College with an education degree.

On August 2, 1958, JoAnn was united in marriage to Alvin Heinz at Sacred Heart Church in Belle Plaine.  They made their home on the family farm in Henderson.

She was employed as an elementary educator for 34 years mostly at the Sibley East School District in Gaylord MN.  JoAnn was a member of St. Joseph’s parish in Henderson.  JoAnn had an enthusiasm for life. In addition to being a wife and homemaker she enjoyed teaching, travel, gardening, playing cards, visiting & especially her grandchildren.

JoAnn is survived by her children: Steve (Joan), Russ, Jerry (Marion), and Ellen (Dan) Kroehler. 11 Grandchildren: Stephanie (Patrick) Murphy, Jessica, and Nick (Amber) Heinz; Travis (Corissa), Jacob, Mary (Braiden) Trouten, Patrick, and Michael Heinz; Hillary (Nick) Leininger, Nicole (Jake) Meidl, and Hollie (Anthony) Wilma. Seven great grandchildren: Levi, Stella, Charlie, Noah, Isabel, Victoria, and Eleanor.  Brother Mike (Cynthia) Hessian; sisters Sheila (Greg) Dorneman and Marguerite Kaczynski; sister-in-law Bunny Hessian.  

JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband, parents, parents-in-law Nicholas and Marie Heinz, brother Msgr./Major Gen. Patrick Hessian, brother and sister-in-law Robert and Helen Hessian; brother Tom Hessian; brother-in-law Pete Kaczynski.
