John J. Burtyk, age 68 of Arlington passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 13th at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Arlington. Visitation will be 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 12th at the Kolden Funeral Home in Arlington with visitation continuing Friday one hour prior to service time at the church. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
John Joseph Burtyk was born on April 6, 1954 to Joseph and Mabel (Rucks) Burtyk. He graduated from Arlington Green Isle High School in 1973. John was a kind and gentle soul, able to talk to anyone no matter where he went. He was always willing to help anyone in need and would help his children with anything. John worked construction and drove truck up to his retirement in June 2021. He had a strong faith. John was a life-time resident of Arlington and a life-long member of St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church of Arlington. John loved riding his Harley, enjoyed bowling and fishing. He worked on cars and patronized many car shows and racing events.
John is survived by daughter: Jamie (Mike) Tupa, son: Joshua (Ashley) Burtyk, sister: Jeanne (Duane) Kistner, brother: Fred “Fritz” Burtyk, best friend: Roy Nordhausen, grandchildren: Racheal Kamps, Devan Tupa, Calan Burtyk, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
John is preceded in death by: parents: Joseph and Mabel Burtyk, niece: Christine Kistner, and aunts and uncles.
