John Jerome Kroehler, age 84 of Henderson, died Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at the Ridgeview Medical Center in Le Sueur. There will be a private family memorial service at St. Paul’s U.C.C. in Henderson with Rev. Deb Meyer, and interment will be in the Brown Cemetery, Henderson.
John was born on March 30, 1936 on the family farm in rural Henderson. He graduated from Henderson High School in 1954, and was proud to be a part of the undefeated Tiger’s football team in 1953. After High School he worked on the family farm, and in 1958 he entered into the US Army and served until 1959. John married his sweetheart, Marjorie “Marge” Rieke on December 19, 1959 in Fairfax.
He was a lifelong Black Angus Beef Farmer in Henderson. He loved playing fast pitch softball, horseshoes, and bowling. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting.
John is survived by his wife, Marge; children, David Kroehler, Cheryl (Curt) Blaschko, and James (Brenda) Kroehler all of Henderson; grandchildren, Andrew (fiancée, Becca Duban) Blaschko, Casie (Eric) Klockmann, Rachelle (Alex) Eide, Robert (Amanda) Kroehler, Russell (special friend, Frances Klopfleisch) Kroehler, and Breanna Kroehler; great-grandchildren, Nora and baby Kroehler arriving in July, Gage Kroehler, and Aleda and Lincoln Klockmann; sisters, Joan Heinz of Le Sueur, and Marilyn Heinz of Blooming Prairie, MN.
He is preceded in death by his parents; grandsons, Ryan and Brendan Kroehler; brothers, Charles (Viola) Kroehler, and Roger Kroehler; and brothers-in-law, Marvin “Fritzie” Heinz, and Maylon Heinz.
