Judy Morrison, age 73 of Belle Plaine, passed away at her home surrounded by her family on May 26, 2020. Memorial Mass will be at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church in Belle Plaine. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. Masks are required, limited seating and social distancing will be in place. There will not be a visitation prior the Mass. Interment will follow the Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
Judith Anne Savage was born in New Prague on May 9, 1947 to Leo and Elaine “Toddy” (Michel) Savage. She grew up on the family farm near St Thomas. She graduated from Le Sueur High School. On August 26, 1967 she married Donald Morrison at St Thomas Catholic Church in St Thomas. They have lived in the same house on Main Street in Belle Plaine since they were married. Judy worked as a Nurse’s Aide in various senior living and assisted living facilities over the years and eventually transitioned into the bookkeeping and office administration roles at Valley View Assisted Living in Jordan, St Gertrude’s Health & Rehabilitation Center in Shakopee and Long Lake Assisted Living in Long Lake. She retired from Long Lake Assisted Living in 2012.
Judy enjoyed spending time with her family. Her three greatest joys were her grandchildren. Throughout her life, Judy was an avid reader and took on many projects such as restoring all the woodwork throughout her home and crocheting quilts to be given as gifts. She also enjoyed shopping and traveling/vacationing with family. Judy was known for her love of cooking and baking and she shared this passion with all three of her grandchildren.
Judy is survived by her husband, Donald; son, Steven (Sadie) Morrison of Belle Plaine; daughter, Shannon (Michael) Zellmann of Jordan; grandchildren, Evan Zellmann, Olivia Zellmann and Sophie Morrison; siblings, Richard (Anne) Savage of Owatonna, LuAnne (Brian) Guertin of Le Sueur and Bill (Colleen) Savage of Le Sueur; sister-in-law, Joan (David) Pint of New Prague, sister-in-law, Colleen Morrison of Belle Plaine; sister-in-law Pat Kamps of Mankato; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Toddy Savage; parents-in-law, Marty and Marie Morrison; brother-in-law, Jerry Morrison and brother-in-law Tom Morrison.
