Laura was born on May, 13th 1951 in Minneapolis, MN to Thomas and Adeline Gendreau (Smith). She graduated from Shakopee High school in 1969.

On October, 18th 1969 she married Luther Kranz and together they had six children. She was a deeply devout Christian and a loving mother. Through many adversities she maintained her faith and love of Jesus Christ. She believed deeply in the power and compassion of our lord and testified to his works throughout her life.

She was a gifted and prolific crocheter, an avid rock collector, an aspiring naturalist, a wonderful cook, and a proud mother. She admired the beauty of the natural world and taught her children to empathize and care for those who are vulnerable. Her kind and considerate demeanor will be greatly missed by her friends and family.

Laura was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Adeline Gendreau, sister Annie Olmstead, brother Thomas Michael Gendreau, husband Luther Kranz, and son William Kranz. She is survived by her children Esther (Ryan) Sutter, Clinton (Beth) Kranz, Seth (Treon) Kranz, Tamar (Ryan Brenner) Kranz, and Paul (Toni) Kranz, grandchildren Sidney, Rebecca, Maria, Preston, Kylie, Lilly, sisters Cheryl (David) Ekblad, and Mary (Craig) Rausch, brother Thomas Gendreau, and brother-in-law Mark Olmstead.
