Laurie J. (Slack) Swenson

Laurie J. Swenson, age 71 of Le Sueur, died Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato.  Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 16 at the First Lutheran Church in Le Sueur.  Rev. Carl Bruihler will officiate the service.  Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, March 15 at the First Lutheran Church in Le Sueur, and will continue one hour prior to service time on Saturday.  Interment will be in Mound Cemetery, Le Sueur.

Laurie was born on June 12, 1947 to Philip and Marjorie (Hargrove) Slack in St. Peter.  She graduated from Le Sueur High School and married Lee Swenson on June 1, 1968.  Her life was filled with 50+ years raising her family and making memories with her High School Sweetheart.  Laurie enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events.  She also enjoyed dinners and plays with the Card Club Ladies.

Laurie is survived by her husband, Lee Swenson; children, Kirk (Debbie) Swenson of Mankato, Paula Swenson of Brooklyn Park, and Alissa (Patrick) Olson of Plymouth; grandchildren, Marissa, Ethan, Kiera, and Brandon Swenson, Zachary Swenson, and Declan Olson; siblings, Barb (Jim) Weber of Osage, IA, Terry Slack of Le Sueur, and Tom (Diane) Slack of Minneapolis; and many other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and sister-in-law, Christine Slack.
