Linda Rae (Spear) Mcconnell

Linda R. McConnell, age 66 of Ogilvie, formerly of Faxon Twp., passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.  Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 25, at St. John’s-Assumption Catholic Church in Faxon Twp.  Fr. Sam Perez will officiate.  Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine, and will continue one hour prior to Mass at church on Thursday.  Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Linda was born on July 27, 1952 to Fred and Helen (Ball) Spear in St. Paul, MN.  She grew up in Prior Lake, MN, and moved to Faxon Twp. in 1961.  She graduated from Belle Plaine High School in 1970.  She married Gary McConnell on November 19, 1977 at St. John’s-Assumption Catholic Church.  They lived in Montana for 20 years, where she ran a ceramic business.  She loved her ceramics.  Linda enjoyed cooking, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Linda is survived by her husband, Gary; children, Scott (Tara) McConnell of Belle Plaine, Jeremy McConnell of Belle Plaine, Matthew (Amber) McConnell of Belle Plaine, and Boo “Becky” (Jethro) Stier of Belle Plaine; 11 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; brother, Freddie (Karen) Spear of New Prague; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Troy; brother, Billy; sister, Katherine; and brother, David.
