Lorraine Mary Schultz, age 92, of Belle Plaine peacefully passed away on September 15, 2023, at home with her family. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30a.m. on Friday, September 22, 2023, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Le Sueur (217 N. Third Street). Fr. Michael Kaluza, Fr. Roger Hessian and Deacon Michael Daly will officiate. Visitation will be on Thursday, September 21, 2023, from 4-7p.m. at the Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine and continue one hour prior to Mass at St. Anne’s on Friday morning. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Belle Plaine following the Mass. Due to church painting at Our Lady of the Prairie, a luncheon will be served at St. John Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine following burial (148 S. Chestnut Street). Memorials are preferred.
Lorraine was born in St. Paul on September 13, 1931, to Fred and Irene (Casey) Keup. She grew up in Belle Plaine and graduated in 1949. She was married to Lloyd Schultz on April 8, 1953, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. They raised their family and farmed in Faxon Township, Sibley County for 45 years before returning to her childhood home in Belle Plaine in 1998. Lorraine enjoyed visiting and playing cards with her friends. Mostly, she enjoyed supporting all her children and grandchildren through their sports and fine arts. She was also an avid Minnesota Twins fan.
Lorraine is survived by her children, Doug (Carol), David (Sharon), Brad (Sue), Renee, Brian (Noreen) Schultz and Jean (Eric) Johnson; Daughter-in-law, Tara. Lorraine enjoyed her Grandchildren, Jacob (Katy), Janelle (Tyler), Ali (Noah), Tony (Taylor), Courtney (Chris), Pat (Jen), Mike (Jenny), Matt (Cyndi), Colin, Aidan, Kellan, Tucker, Michael, Nick (Hayley), Elizabeth (Andrew), Lauren, and Rachel and 15 Great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lloyd, son, Donald, daughter-in-law Cindy, and brothers Fred and Paul Keup.
