Lucille Schroader

December 3, 1933 ~ June 11, 2021 (age 87)

Lucille “Lucy” C.  (Isackson) Schroader, Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend, age 87, of Le Sueur, MN formerly of New Ulm, MN, went to be with Jesus, Friday, June 11, 2021.  She was surrounded by her family.

Lucy was born to Roy and Irene (Pagenkopf) Isackson on December 3, 1933 in Bismarck Township, Sibley County, MN.  She was one of 8 children.

Wil Isackson of Grand Rapids, MN; Lyle (Gerri) Isackson of New Ulm, MN; Eddy (Judy) Isackson of New Ulm, MN and Carla (Mike) Postel of New Ulm, MN.  Two brothers Leonard “Lindy” Isackson, baby Gerald Isackson and baby Girl Isackson preceded her in death.

She attended school in rural Winthrop and Lafayette, MN.  Around the age of 10, the family moved to New Ulm, MN where she completed her education and was confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.  As a teenager Lucy worked at Ben Franklin and Loretta Hospital (now New Ulm Medical Center) which she loved.

On October 20, 1951 she married Kenneth A. Stransky at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in New Ulm.  Together they had 4 children, Sharon “Sherry” K. (Paul) Fisher of Rathdrum, ID; Gerald “Jerry” D. Stransky of St. Peter, MN and Gail L. (Dave) Cowdin of rural Pemberton, MN.  One daughter, Susan “Susie” J. Stransky passed away suddenly in a tragic car accident at the age of 19, on April 23, 1978.

Together, Lucy and Ken farmed and ran the St. Clair Café and Stransky’s Meats in St. Clair, Minnesota.  She was also a stay at home Mom.  Later she worked as a Nursing Assistant at the Mapleton Care Center in Mapleton, MN.  She and Ken divorced in the early 1970s.

She married Marvin L. Schroader on August 18, 1973 at Medo Lutheran Church in rural Mapleton, MN.  Together they had one child, Linda M. (Benjamin) Rodriguez of Le Sueur, MN.

The couple lived on a farm south of Janesville, Minnesota and for 13 years Lucy was a stay at home wife and Mother until she and Marvin separated in 1986.  At that time she went to work, for many years, at Lake Shore Inn Nursing Home in Waseca, MN.  She also worked part time at HyVee in Waseca and finally at Colony Court in Waseca where she cared for the elderly until she was 75 years old!  Lucy also loved to hum, she had a beautiful hum, and would hum a lot while she worked.

She loved our Lord Jesus and singing hymns, saying the Lord’s Prayer, praise and worship!  Throughout her life, Lucy enjoyed gardening, fishing, canning, sewing, crocheting, watching old movies, playing the lottery, occasionally going to a casino, talking politics, reading, cooking, baking and cleaning!  She loved her 5 children with all her heart and raising them was her greatest accomplishment!  Her 9 grandchildren were a blessing beyond blessings and babysitting them whenever she could brought her an enormous amount of joy as they were growing up!  She also had 9 lovely great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Irene Isackson, 2 former husbands:  Kenneth Stransky and Marvin Schroader.  Two infant siblings, her brother Leonard “Lindy” Isackson and her beautiful daughter, Susie Stransky.  Cards, condolences and flowers may be sent to the Kolden Funeral Home in Le Sueur, MN.

A private Christian Memorial Service will be held at Valley Live Church in Le Sueur for immediate family and friends.  Pastor Gil Dewes officiating.  A “Celebration of Her Life” will be held later this summer, tentatively in New Ulm, MN.
