Lucy Kauffmann

Lucille “Lucy” Kauffmann, age 92 of Arlington passed away on May 3, 2023 at Golden Hearts Senior Living Center in Arlington. Memorial Services will be held at 11 A.M. on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at St. Brendan Catholic Church in Green Isle. Deacon Tim Dolan will officiate. Visitation will be 9:30- 11 A.M. prior to the Memorial Service at church. Interment will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Arlington, with luncheon to follow directly after interment at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Social Hall in Arlington. 

Lucy was born on July 1, 1930 in Henderson, Minnesota to Frank and Pauline (Weishaar) Schwope. The family moved to the Arlington area in 1936. She attended Arlington Country School and Arlington High School where she graduated from in 1948. She worked in St. Paul as a secretary for 2 years. She married Norbert (Bud) Kauffmann on June 24, 1950 and they lived on the Kauffmann family farm in Green Isle Township until she moved to Amberfield Place in 1999.  Lucy worked at Nagel Packing, Hands, Inc., Young America Corporation, and Big Stone and later retired in 2003. Lucy enjoyed spending time at the lake, being with her children and grandchildren, gardening, embroidering and reading. 

She is survived by her children; Bob Kauffmann, Patty (Lynn) Mackedanz, and Barb (Brad) Droege, 7 Grandchildren; James Kauffmann, Julie (Jeff) Becker, Jolene (Mike) Salisbury, Jenni (Brent) Luthens, Jay (Miranda) Mackedanz, Brian (Jenni) Droege, and Brenda (Aaron) Jurek, 10 Great-Grandchildren, Siblings; Nell Kaluza and Frank (Delores) Schwope 

Lucy is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 48 years Norbert “Bud” Kauffmann on June 8, 1998, sister; Clara (Don) Pivec, brother-in-law; Jerry Kaluza, and other relatives & friends.
