Marlene Steinborn Obituary

Marlene L. Steinborn, age 81 of Mankato, formerly of Henderson, died on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at the Hillcrest Rehabilitation Center in Mankato. Services and burial in Brown Cemetery will be private.

Marlene was born on September 23, 1938 to Albert and Frieda (Krueger) Fenske in Arlington, MN. She grew up in Henderson and attended Henderson Schools. She married Marvin Steinborn on October 24, 1954 in Mason City, Iowa. The couple lived in Le Sueur and Henderson before living in the Jessenland Township area of Sibley County. Marlene worked nearly 50 years for ADC in St. Peter, MN and it later became Onan. Marvin died in 1982 and she moved to St. Peter, MN in 1983 where she has lived until her health declined two years ago. Marlene enjoyed puzzles, time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Marian (Dick) Poehler of Good Thunder, MN; grandkids, Elizabeth (Loren) Van Grootheest of North Mankato, Jess (Leslie) Poehler of Good Thunder, Jarrod (Stacy) Poehler of Good Thunder, and Tory (Jesse) Kruggel of Good Thunder; and 6 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marvin in 1982; and brother, Allen Fenske.
