Marlene Jean Walsten, age 76 of Savage, formerly of Le Sueur, died Monday, February 10, 2020 at the MN Veteran’s Home in Minneapolis. Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 18 at Zion U.C.C. in Le Sueur, with Rev. Kent Meyer officiating. Visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m. at the church on Tuesday.

Marlene was born on September 15, 1943 to Arthur and Margaret (Mager) Brandt in Le Sueur. She grew up in Le Sueur and graduated from Le Sueur High School. Following high school she attended St. Cloud State University for a few years. She married Carl Walsten on November 6, 1965 at Zion U.C.C. in Le Sueur. She worked in various management positions throughout the metro area. Later in life she became a Lay Minister at Prince of Peace Church in Burnsville. She enjoyed traveling, and going on different mission trips with her church.
She is survived by her husband, Carl; the dog, Jake; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Don Kahle; and brother and sister-in-law, Marvin and Linda Brandt.
